This recent email touched me so much with her beautiful words about my work:
My husband and I were just visiting Albuquerque for the first time. Returning to our lodgings on our last day to pick up our luggage and head to the airport, my husband wanted to buy a greeting card to leave for our host, perhaps from the RC Gorman gallery. We noticed there were cards at the Amapola Gallery and went upstairs. As soon as I saw your painting "Majestic Clouds" I fell in love with it. The name says it all. You captured the clouds in the open desert so perfectly! The light, the open feeling, the dazzling turquoise sky over the subdued hills. I kept circling back to it. I've never bought an original painting before (aside from a small water color at a local pleine aire festival!) and I had not planned on doing so during this trip, but it is so beautiful. I have no idea why you dropped the price of it so low but THANK YOU for making this lovely painting affordable for me after I'd already blown our budget for the trip! They wrapped it up for me in layers of bubble wrap and we hurriedly repacked our luggage so I could claim my painting as a carry on "personal item". I carried it protectively onto, on, and back off the plane and it made its way home safely. We live in downtown Los Angeles and are in the process of buying our first home here. If all goes well, we know exactly where this window on to a southwestern sky will hang in our new place. (To be quite honest, though, I couldn't bear to leave it all wrapped up for the coming month: it's already up on a wall here.) Although we live in a very urban environment now, both my husband and I have lived in the Mojave Desert of California, and he spent his childhood summers in the Sonoran Desert around Palm Springs, so the image in the painting calls to more than memories of a brief New Mexico excursion. I wanted to write and let you know not only that your painting has a new home but why we bought it and that I really love it and it's a very significant buy for me.

Some more wonderful comments from portrait clients:
JASON W says, "The picture came in today and it is AWESOME. I immediatly went out and bought a wooden shadow box to frame it on my wall. I could not be any happier with your work. The note you wrote was very kind. Hopefully I can commission another challenging piece in the future, or refer your work to others. I am absolutely blown away with how well you did this. WOW, It is PERFECT! You did the face and details so accurately, and I am especially pleased with how you did the background and other gladiators, it is exactly what I wanted. You even did it in such a small time frame, I am truly in awe. I am extremely satisfied with the work you put in. Thank you SO much!

Cynthia,

I cannot thank you enough for the truly amazing portrait you painted of our daughter. When we were given the gift of this painting, I had no idea how unbelievably beautiful the end result would be. You are so talented - I hope you know just how much your talent means to the recipient of your paintings. Thank you for being so easy to work with, so kind, and for sharing your gift. I hope to work with you again in the near future.
Kindest regards,
Megan

We LOVE the 'life size' cherry tree that now grows in our playroom! A great place ot curl up with a book :) The custom details incorporate our girls and even the birds that frequent our yard.
Also love the personalized banner for our oldest daughter. It's a piece of art that she can bring with her anywhere so goes in the future. A truly one-of-a-kind gift!
